LONDON - Hours after losing the Copa Del Rey to arch-rivals Real Madrid, Barcelona learnt their valuation in Forbes magazine had dropped. Manchester United were ranked football's most valuable team by the magazine for the seventh year in a row, while Barca, widely regarded as the best club team in the world right now, slipped to fifth. Taking into account income, profitability and debt, the American business magazine's valuation of English Premier League giants Man United rose slightly to US$1.9 billion (S$2.3 billion), even though the club's last trophy was the 2010 League Cup. The Red Devils are favourite to wrap up a record 19th English title this season, and are in the semi-finals of the Champions League.
