Shanghai (The Star/ANN) - Malaysia is aggressively wooing Chinese companies to increase their investment in Malaysia which stands at US$250mil currently, said Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin . He said there were more than 120 companies in various industries with Chinese interests operating in Malaysia at the moment. "Malaysia will continue to welcome Chinese investments, both in the manufacturing and services sectors, particularly in high technology, value-added and knowledge-based activities," said Muhyiddin at the roundtable discussion with select captains of industry from China and Malaysia in Shanghai. He said the Malaysian Industrial Development Authority (Mida) was currently engaged in active discussions with Chinese companies that had initiated projects in the metals, chemical, food, transport, automotive and electrical and electronics sectors.
