SINGAPORE - She began the day with a visit to a needy family. In the afternoon, she went on a round of house visits in Waterloo Street. And in between, People's Action Party (PAP) candidate Denise Phua attended her church's Good Friday service. And so, amid preparation for the May 7 polls, some candidates from the PAP and the Opposition parties also observed the holiest day of the year in the Christian calendar. Mr Lim Biow Chuan, who will carry the PAP's flag in the single ward of Mountbatten, scheduled only one round of house visits yesterday. Today, on the other hand, he is scheduled to attend five grassroots events. "I try not to schedule anything on a public holiday also because the grassroots leaders need their rest," said Mr Lim.
