To sum it up, use the methods taught in Malaysian schools as they are the real native users of Malay. What is the use of SIM-USM Malay studies degree program specifically designed for local Malay teachers. Wouldn’t the graduates be able to enhance the interest in learning Malay among the students? It will be a great insult to the late Prof Za’ba, Buyong Adil and the still living Prof Md Arif Ahmad if their methods are advertantly minuted or worst still discarded and replaced with foreign method. Give the students Ipad and the pool of talented Malay teachers can supply language apps and widgets. Students are bored with the whiteboard. Surprisingly, there are schools in the so-called backward Terengganu using smarboard as a medium to teach all subjects. So, it is time for us to catch up if we sense the slightest degeneration of the language in particular or any other subject...
