Letters: We're looking for sincerity, maturity in younger political candidates #sgelections

I refer to the letter "Experience that counts, not looks" (April 23) by Ms Tan Minxuan Michelle. The reason for the online community taking a keen interest in the candidates Ms Tin Pei Ling (PAP) and Ms Nicole Seah (NSP) is that both are expected to offer a glimpse of what a youthful representative in Parliament can do for voters. As such, any sensible and responsible voter would give their support to a young candidate who shows sincerity and maturity, befitting the role of an MP. I agree with Ms Tan that experience is important, but experience alone does not make one electoral candidate better than another. Ms Tin has had more experience with grassroots work but this does not seem to show in her response to questions from the media. I have seen both these candidates' videos on the Internet.
