A concern for a growing slice of the population - TODAY: Who in Parliament speaks for singles? #sgelections #sgelection

As a single living in Singapore, I feel penalised for my unmarried status in many ways. I am not allowed to buy a new HDB flat even though I work hard and have been paying taxes for the longest time. Recently, I wanted to buy a resale flat but the cash-over-valuation was too high. We understand the Government policy's of giving priority to married couples who want to start a family. However, why can't it allow singles to buy a new flat perhaps at locations not preferred by couples? Why is it not doing anything to control the COV? Though it is free market, the Government should put in place measures to allow singles like us to buy a resale flat at a reasonable price. I am staying with my mum and I have to hire a domestic helper to take care of my mum while I work. Why can't the Manpower Ministry allow singles like us to have tax relief on the maid's levy when hiring a maid ...
