Independent candidate, Andrew Kuan, told TODAY that he would not be contesting in the General Election and will not be submitting his nomination forms tomorrow. He was supposed to contest in Joo Chiat Single Member Constituency and would have stood against the People's Action Party candidate, Mr Charles Chong, and possibly the Worker's' Party's Mr Yee Jenn Jong. Mr Kuan said: "I do not want to be involved in a three-cornered fight. I spoke to my wife about it and my family is relieved that I will not be contesting in the General Election. I have not consulted any Opposition parties on my decision."
