Watch six of Shangri-La's best pastry chefs from Bangkok, Beijing, Dubai and Singapore carving their interpretations of the novel 'The Lost Horizon' by author James Hilton on 1,200kg of chocolate blocks at the hotel's lobby. The novel is about an idyllic sanctuary, which is the inspiration behind the Shangri-la Hotel. All the carvings will be completed by Wednesday and displayed at the hotel from Thursday till May 7. Part of the hotel's 40th anniversary celebrations.
