Singapore's animation industry is dying #sgelections #sgelection #gesg

I have always felt sorry for diploma students (2 year course) enrolling for Multimedia or Animation courses. My reasoning is this: 1. there is often insufficient time to equip the students to master just the fundamentals e.g. Principles of design, typography, layout, etc Couple with the steep learning curve to learn the multimedia, video or animation software. The number of other software needed to learn too to complement their core program can be mind boggling. Unless the student is 110% passionate, dedicate and software savvy, he ( often a he ) will end up in a different career from his original dream. Time and passion is the enemy. 2. This program requires teachers who have been hands-on experience for a number of years, definitely not a fresh grad from even a good overseas college.
