Japan reconstruction to cost US$245b to US$612b

TOKYO: Ratings agency Standard & Poor's on Wednesday said reconstruction costs following Japan's massive quake and tsunami could range from 20 trillion yen to 50 trillion yen (US$245 billion to US$612 billion). It said 30 trillion yen was its central forecast, if there are no measures to boost revenue, such as tax increases.
