WHY is it that when I'm holding something that resembles a tablet computer, everyone will automatically ask me if it's an iPad instead of asking me what tablet it is? That's seriously annoying. It means that people assume I spend so much money for so little a product. This is all because of the words "Designed by Apple in California" and Apple's marketing strategy. I promise you, if you can get past the shiny advertisements and fancy packaging, you'll find out that you're getting ripped off. Sure the iPad is the first successful tablet and lords it over market, but that's a given because if you're the innovator and aren't leading the market, you're pretty much in trouble. Like the iPhone being extremely successful in the smartphone market when it was first released, the iPad is, too. But Apple is now third in market share for the smartphone segment in the US.
