March 2011 Manufacturing Output Up 22% On-Year: Output also expanded month-on-month.

Singapore's manufacturing sector in March 2011 churned out 22% more output on-year – the fastest growth in 4 months. A key contributor to this overall increase was the biomedical cluster, whose output jumped 57% over last March. In particular, pharmaceuticals – due to production of higher value-added mix of active pharmaceutical ingredients – expanded 60.9% on-year. According to the Singapore Economic Development Board’s (EDB) March 2011 manufacturing data released yesterday, compared to last March, all other clusters also ramped up their output:
