Google's YouTube video website is planning to add movies from major studios, including Sony's Columbia Pictures and Comcast's Universal Pictures, according to people with knowledge of the situation. Sony has agreed to offer its films for rental and Universal is discussing an accord with YouTube, said the people, who were not authorised to speak publicly. Warner Bros, a unit of Time Warner, has also agreed to provide movies, according to TheWrap.com, which reported the developments on Monday. News Corp's 20th Century Fox and Viacom's Paramount Pictures have declined to participate, according to TheWrap and The New York Times. Walt Disney, which rents movies through Apple's iTunes, is on the sidelines, they added. Bloomberg
