18 hurt in Barcelona train collision
MADRID: Two trains collided in the Spanish city of Barcelona on Thursday, injuring 18 people, medical services said. The accident occurred at the city's El Clot station at 9:50am (0750 GMT) when a commuter train with 70 passengers on board collided with an inter-city sleeper train that was empty, the national rail operator Renfe said. A spokeswoman for the regional medical services said 18 people were slightly injured, most of them with "multiple bruises", 16 of whom were taken to hospital. Spanish media said among the injured were two infants, aged seven and 18 months.
