24 hour programming contest running again for the 5th year

SINGAPORE - Mobile and app programers looking for that break should mark July 22 on their calendar. The Information Technology Standards Committee (ITSC) has announced the theme and supporting platforms for this year's code::XtremeApps:: competition. Programmers will only have 24 hours to design, code and develop an online or mobile application using only raw talent and imagination. There will be training sessions to familiarise developers to the chosen platforms and tools so they will not be groping in the dark. The competition aims to promote programming education, create greater awareness on the use and value of standards in programming, and cultivate programming interest - especially among youth and young adults.
