Allow ministers to be nominated back in if they lose: SDA #SGelections

THE Singapore Democratic Alliance (SDA) has proposed a change in constitution to allow present ministers to be nominated as ministers even if the opposition goes into Parliament. At a rally held in a field in Pasir Ris on Sunday, Harminder Pal Singh, who is part of the six-man SDA team contesting in Pasir Ris-Punggol GRC, said that he did not want to rock the foundations of Singapore and drive investors away. Instead, he proposed that present ministers could be nominated to their previous positions. He was one of seven speakers at the rally, which drew a crowd that filled the field, although the numbers thinned towards the end. The other speakers included the party's secretary-general Desmond Lim, 43, who is contesting in a three-cornered fight in Punggol East SMC; businessman Sidney Soon, 54, and senior analyst Jeffrey Lim, 35, who are part of the Pasir Ris-Punggol team. ...
