SINGAPORE - The issue of foreign workers in Singapore is a serious one and the trade-off is between getting foreign workers to fill vacancies which employers need and Singaporeans losing their jobs, Deputy Prime Minister Wong Kan Seng (picture)said yesterday. Mr Wong, who is leading the People's Action Party team in the Bishan-Toa Payoh Group Representation Constituency (GRC), made this point during his walkabout in the ward yesterday. "Would you like to hear voices of the Opposition? Or would you like to see a strong government with good policies that can take Singapore forward in the face of the uncertain future? You can have many voices in Parliament but you will be hungry because you have no jobs," Mr Wong warned.
