"Duke Nukem Forever" to hit Singapore on June 10 after 15 years in the making

SINGAPORE: More than a decade in the making, 'vaporware' game "Duke Nukem Forever" is set to finally go on sale in Singapore on June 10 for the PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3, said its developer Gearbox Software. "The game is finished, we are now in the process of getting certification," said Gearbox Software President and CEO Randy Pitchford last week on April 28. "Duke Nukem Forever" was originally announced on the same day 14 years ago in 1997 by previous developer 3D Realms. The game's development was held up by a change in game engine, shortage of funds and 3D Realm going out of business, until Gearbox Software took took over the development of the game in 2009, eventually resulting in a protracted development cycle of about 15 years.
