Most of the mobile phone spam SMSes which I regularly receive are on property promotions or Spa packages, and I usually delete them after seeing the first few words. But one that I received on May 3 caught my attention. It read: "ADV: Fresh, High Quality Leads/Databasefor Special Sales! 100,000 and 500,000New Pkg Available! Call Now for discount." Curious that this might be one of the sources that sell personal information, I decided to call the advertiser. Here's the information I got: 'Company name: Emailing Hub. Location: Golden Mile Tower, #14-04. Name: Richard. High income group S$10,000 and above, sold at S$700 per lot. Low income group $10,000 and below, sold at S$500 per lot. Details include name, date of birth, phone number and mailing address! Also available are two million legitimate email addresses and mass emailing services!' SMS spam can be particularly annoy...
