#Malaysia police to release four arrested at Bersih rally

KUALA LUMPUR (THE STAR/ASIA NEWS NETWORK) - Four men who were arrested during the recent Bersih 4 rally here will be released Monday afternoon. City CID chief Senior Asst Comm Datuk Zainuddin Ahmad confirmed the arrest of four suspects for several separate incidents during the rally. SAC Zainuddin said three of the four men were arrested for hurling firecrackers at the crowd at Dataran Merdeka on Sunday night, while the other was a 21-year-old man who was arrested for engaging in an obscene act and failing to produce his identity card. It was reported that a scuffle ensued at the Dataran Merdeka area after an individual apparently threw firecrackers at Bersih 4 protesters as they began to disperse, injuring four. A protester who witnessed the incident said that the man, dressed in a black T-shirt and yellow headband, allegedly threw firecrackers at some protesters resting ...
