SINGAPORE: Health Minister Khaw Boon Wan, PAP candidate for Sembawang GRC said that providing support for the elderly is his priority for the next five years. Mr Khaw was speaking at a rally at Woodlands Stadium for Sembawang GRC. He said he will build new facilities, such as two new medical centres - one in Woodlands, another in the east. More resources will be put into community-based care, and the MediShield and ElderShield schemes will also be reviewed to make healthcare more affordable. This will also cover patients who need nursing home care and those with congenital illnesses. Mr Khaw is also formalising a scheme to meet rising demand for specialist dental care and cut down waiting time.
