'PAP only listens when there's a strong Opposition'

SINGAPORE - The only way to get the People's Action Party to listen to Singaporeans and change its policies is to have a strong Opposition presence in Parliament, said Mr Low Thia Khiang - and voters have the chance, come Polling Day tomorrow, to change the face of politics and policy-making in the Republic. This was the final battle cry from the Workers' Party chief last night, as the party's bid for a historic GRC win drew to a close. Mr Low is leading the WP's charge in Aljunied GRC and a win for his team will be a step towards empowering Singaporeans, he said. "A First World Parliament, with strong Opposition presence, will ensure that power stays with the people." The WP chief said the PAP "has disconnected themselves with the people".
