PRICES of certificates of entitlement (COE) reversed slightly in three out of five categories at the latest tender yesterday, despite an increase in bids. Related Link MOSTLY LOWER The COE premium for cars above 1,600cc dipped 1.4 per cent to $56,011. That for commercial vehicles slipped by 8.4 per cent to close at $21,889 while the motorcycle premium was 10 per cent lower at $2,253. The two categories, whose prices finished higher from the previous tender a fortnight ago, were A (for cars up to 1,600cc, and taxis) and Open, which can be used for any vehicle type but ends up mainly for cars. The former ended 1.8 per cent higher at $44,790 while the latter was 0.9 per cent more at $56,490. In total, the Land Transport Authority received 2,939 bids, up slightly from 2,899 in the previous tender. Motor traders said a number of factors were at play in the latest tender. The dr...
