Unsupervised visitors to this zoo in Malaysia habitually threw their still-smouldering cigarette butts near the enclosure of this female Orang Utan named Shirley. The result? The primate has learned to smoke, and now shows withdrawal symptoms without her regular nicotine 'fix'. STOMPer Alvin relates the sad scene: "This video was taken at the Johor Zoo in Malaysia. ""The Malaysian zookeeper told me that unsupervised tourist had been throwing lit cigarettes into the enclosure of this Orang Utan named 'Shirley'. "She has since become addicted to smoking and has been observed to suffer withdrawal symptoms when deprived of cigarettes, according to the zookeeper. "In the first place, why are people even throwing lit cigarettes at animals? "Cats, dogs, monkeys -- they are all living things like us.
