[CNA] GE: Polling stations closed

SINGAPORE: Polling stations across Singapore have closed at 8pm on Saturday. Earlier in the day, candidates turned up at the polling stations both as observers and voters. Residents in Ang Mo Kio Group Representation Constituency (GRC) saw Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong in their ward. Mr Lee and his GRC team were at a polling centre at Chong Boon Secondary School. Candidates are allowed to enter the polling centres that are in the constituencies they are contesting in. Candidates from both the People's Action Party (PAP) and the Opposition parties were seen visiting the various polling centres across the island to observe the polling process. Deputy Prime Minister and PAP candidate for Bishan-Toa Payoh GRC Wong Kan Seng said: "The polling centres that I've been to - so far, seven of them - the voting process has been very good.
