PM pledges to engage S'poreans in decisions, trade-offs #SGelections

PRIME Minister Lee Hsien Loong urged Singaporeans to close ranks and work together, pledging to 'put right what is wrong' and engage the people in more decisions and trade-offs on major policies. Shortly after the last results came in, Mr Lee met the media for the traditional post-election press conference in the early hours of Sunday, at which he gave a sobering assessment of how the People's Action Party (PAP) had fared. He expressed disappointment over the PAP's defeat in Aljunied GRC, which cost the government two ministers, and its failure to wrestle back Hougang from the Workers' Party (WP).
