'We are coming back': WP East Coast team #SGelections

FRESH from faring better than it had expected, the Workers' Party team that lost in East Coast GRC has set its sight on victory at the next polls. During the team's thank-you drive around the constituency on Sunday, team leader Eric Tan declared: 'For this election our goal was 45 per cent, for the next it will be 55. 'It will be the same team back here working hard to win over the residents of East Coast. We are going to analyse the data and see how we can make it better.' The five-member team got the second-highest proportion of votes in a GRC among opposition parties, with 45.17 per cent of the votes, which is a nine percentage point rise from its showing in the 2006 election. They lost to the People's Action Party's team who took 54.8 per cent of the votes.
