SINGAPORE: Singapore Telecommunications (SingTel) said its Chairman Chumpol NaLamlieng will step down as Chairman and Director of the company. He will be succeeded by Mr Simon Israel, after the SingTel's Annual General Meeting, which will take place on July 29, 2011. SingTel said Mr NaLamlieng, a Thai national, was appointed a non-executive and independent Director in 2002 and has been Chairman of the Board since 2003. Mr Kai Nargolwala, Lead Independent Director, said: "The Group has indeed been fortunate to have benefited from Khun Chumpol's vast experience and understanding of the business environment in Asia.     Wow, lotsa Singtel haters on Twitter :) I wonder why 3G is so horrendous in Singapore though, across all providers it seems. Try it in Hong Kong, super fast, it's like night and day compared to SG. Super CMI.
