NEA signs MOU with UK Met office repositioning its Met services

SINGAPORE: Singapore's building up its capabilities in climate science through a memorandum of understanding signed on Tuesday by the National Environment Agency's (NEA) Meteorological Services and the UK Met Office. The UK Met Office operates the Hadley Centre which is recognised globally as one of the leading centres for climate prediction. The collaboration aims to enhance the Met Services' climate science capability to produce reliable projections of Singapore's rainfall, temperature, wind and sea level for different time scales up to 2100. These projections will augment the NEA's Vulnerability Studies to determine the impact of climate change on Singapore's urban climate, water resources and coastal areas.
