Much of the online discussion is stridently anti-PAP, says our reader. There is no room for a proper debate. Agree?

FOREIGN Minister George Yeo's wisdom will be missed in the Cabinet, and Singapore will miss his steady guidance of our foreign diplomacy. He has always carried himself with dignity, sincerity and humility, even during the bruising election campaign, and faithfully served Aljunied for 23 years. With due respect, Mr Yeo's team was superior in quality and track record to that of Mr Low Thia Khiang. While no one is indispensable, given who Mr Yeo is and what he has done for both Aljunied and Singapore, there should be sound reasons for the swing against him and his team in the constituency. WP campaigned on the need for a check and balance in Parliament against the PAP, and many Singaporeans bought into this ideal. We have a more mature electorate now that wants to be heard, especially younger and better-educated voters, and this is a natural evolution of our society. However,...
