Prices of these frozen meats cost at least 20 per cent less than their fresh counterparts because they are easier to produce and package and do not have to be sent here by air, which costs much more than shipping. At supermarkets, chilled lean pork costs $12.50 per kg but the frozen version costs $8.80 per kg; chilled chicken wings cost $17 for 2kg, but the same amount of frozen chicken wings costs just $8.40.
