Singapore eases travel advisory to Japan

'We no longer advise against non-essential travel to Japan,' a foreign ministry spokesman said in a statement. 'Singaporeans should, however, continue to avoid travel to the coastal areas of Fukushima, Miyagi and Iwate prefectures which were the most affected by the 11 March earthquake and tsunami.' Singaporeans should also 'strictly observe' the Japanese government's 30km exclusion zone around the Fukushima nuclear power plant which was damaged by the twin disasters, the spokesman said.
