Investors slam Microsoft's Skype deal...

My prediction is Microsoft will lose $7.1B on this deal. By 2018 Skype will cease to exist and will be completely enveloped into Microsoft's other platforms. Microsoft got what they wanted, the expertise of Skype. History suggests they will take about 3-4 years "integrating" Skype into Office and other products, eventually killing the Skype brand. They will also push Skype employees to the side disregarding their input and their clientele. In the meantime, Google or Facebook will step in with integrated VoIP. That's just how Microsoft does things. Analysts are correct to suggest there's a concern about innovation at Microsoft. For starters, they did not need to buy Skype to integrate its services into Office or XBox. Buying the company at such a high price suggests to me they were most interested in the intellectual property, not the revenue stream. Buy obtaining intellect...
