SINGAPORE : The Consumers Association of Singapore (CASE) said the number of complaints on air travel has increased. But it said the rise may just be due to a lack of information. To address this problem, CASE has recently launched a brochure on air travel consumer tips. It gives consumers information on what to do before purchasing air tickets, as well as matters to take note of before and after flying. CASE said complaints in the first four months of this year make up 60 per cent of complaints received in all of 2008. It said the increase can be attributed largely to the rise in the popularity of budget airlines. Some of the most common complaints include no compensation for damaged luggage; being overcharged for tickets purchased; and a lack of explanation over delayed or cancelled flights.
