S'poreans reluctant to venture outdoors, PSI at 43

SINGAPORE : As hazy conditions affected parts of the country, some Singaporeans are refraining from venturing outdoors. At 43, Sunday's PSI reading as of 4pm still reflects a 'good' air quality level, according to the National Environment Agency's website. This compared to a PSI of 58 on Saturday. But some Singaporeans are still reluctant to head outdoors. At East Coast Park, bicycle rental shops Channel NewsAsia spoke with said they have seen a 50 per cent drop in business this weekend, compared to last weekend. Hawker centres and food courts said they have also been affected by the lack of patrons, citing about a 30 to 40 per cent drop in sales. But some beach-goers are unfazed, coming out to enjoy some quality family time.
