The first and greatest obstacle to do work in a workmanlike way is the astronomical salaries the PAP assigned to themselves as noblemen. It is not for nothing that the wages of Parliamentarians and senators even of first world countries are a far cry from what the PAP pay themselves. A number of factors of a social, ethical and economic nature goes to settling the level of remuneration for governing a populace. The best indication of the correctlevel of remuneration is that actually paid to practitioners around the world. To argue as the PAP did that it must be a fraction of some top professional payout is flawed. If the job of governance was really as the PAP would have it to be, then evidence of such salaries would be found in the foremeost Governments of this globe.
