Room for improvement: Stinky fridges: A stinky fridge can be the result of combining and storing different food

YOUR refrigerator only smells as bad as the foodstuff you store inside. A stinky fridge can be the result of combining and storing different food the wrong way. Make proper use of the compartments of your refrigerator: Raw meat and fish should be wrapped individually before placing them in the freezer compartment or chiller if you intend to use them soon. Open platters of food or cups of leftover drinks should be avoided at all cost so store cooked foodstuff and leftovers in an air-tight container or have their bowls and plates wrapped tightly in cling film before placing them inside the fridge. Keep strong flavoured foods like chilli sauces - with their lids and caps tightly screwed on - on the door shelves of the refrigerator. Buying special charcoal deodorisers or leaving an open box of baking soda also keep odours in the fridge at bay.
