SINGAPORE - Channel 8's school-themed drama Don't Stop Believin' became the first 2012 drama to cross the million-viewer mark when its finale episode aired on Monday. An average of 1,047,800 viewers tuned in to watch stars Felicia Chin and Elvin Ng, who play teachers, redeem their class of troubled and underprivileged students. Viewership for Don't Stop Believin's finale episode surpassed that of Channel 8's mid-year blockbuster Joys Of Life, whose finale episode had set the previous record of 993,000 viewers. Don't Stop Believin' is also 2012's most-watched drama, with an average series viewership of 919,000. The secret to its success is probably the magnetism of the hot young cast who play the students - 17-year-old Kimberly Chia, 18-year-old Edwin Goh and 23-year-old Ian Fang, all of whom command hordes of obsessive young fans who can relate to the classroom setting to ...
