Leanne Seers, found that the water in the tub was cold and turned on the hot water tap. She then left the tap running with her 17-month-old daughter, Katelyn, in it. She heard the toddler cry out in agony and rushed back to find her standing in 15cm of scalding water. She grabbed her out of the tub and called for an ambulance. Two ambulances arrived within minutes and rushed mum and daughter to the hospital. She suffered 30 per cent burns on her legs and arms and died from her injuries five days later.
