Three retiring ministers reiterated wish not to be re-appointed: PM Lee: SINGAPORE : Singapore's Prime Minister

SINGAPORE : Singapore's Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong said the three retiring ministers had asked to leave before the elections, but Mr Lee only agreed to let them step down after the General Elections (GE). Mr Lee said Deputy Prime Minister Wong Kan Seng, National Development Minister Mah Bow Tan and Transport Minister Raymond Lim had served in challenging appointments and have made many valuable contributions. "Now that these elections have been fought and won, they reiterated that they do not wish to be re-appointed. I agreed and I will like to put on record my thanks for all their many contributions," said Mr Lee. Housing, transport and security issues were among the issues extensively debated in the recent GE.
