What next? Ministers’ salaries must come down: SDP | SingaporeScene - Yahoo! News

If the opposition can attract talent in the likes of Tan Jee Say,Chen Show Mao, Sylvia Lim and the young Nicole Seah I dare say there must be many more talented and caring people out there. Don't forget these are the ones who dare take the path less trodden, the hard road in Politics through the opposition route, These people are obviously not in it for the money. So it is a fallacy that we need to pay top dollar to attract talent. We want our leaders to be remunerated attractively. However, 30 of the highest paid politicians are Singaporeans?? What is our GDP, and what is our per-capita income? Do we want this record? If the argument is that we need salaries like this in order to prevent corruption, then the implication reading between the lines are that the ministers of countries who are paid 1/5 to 1/10 of our salary are probably corrupt. Mind you, i am not referring to...
