The problem first surfaced early on Wednesday morning. Some also had difficulty reaching the M1 hotline. This is believed to be the first major service disruption caused by a telco's failed systems. The problem was not specific to any model of phone. In 1997, M1 was hit by another disruption that affected some of its customers, but that was through no fault of its own. Its network had been affected by interference from a SingTel Mobile base station in Mount Faber that had transmitted trial signa...
