M1 says its mobile phone service was 'fully restored' after 10pm yesterday

SINGAPORE - Mobile operator M1 today said they have fully restored its mobile phone service, after customers complained of disruptions in the service from yesterday morning. Service was fully restored after 10pm last night, said Ms Petrina Teoh, senior manager - corporate communications for M1. In a statement to the media last night, M1 said it had experienced "technical difficulty" on a customer management server, and mobile services to some of its customers had been "temporarily disrupted". M1 apologised to customers who could not get through its helpline yesterday, as it had been "flooded" by calls, and pledged to rectify both issues. Under the Telecom Service Resiliency Code, telecommunications service providers may be subject to financial penalties for major service outages, the IDA said. TAN WEI ZHEN
