NATIONAL Development Minister Mah Bow Tan on Thursday issued a statement on his retirement from Cabinet, following Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong's unveiling of his new Cabinet line-up on Wednesday. This is what Mr Mah said: 'I have decided to retire from the Cabinet after 23 years of service. Two years ago, I had expressed to PM Lee my desire to step aside at the end of the last term, but was asked to stay on to fight the elections. Now that the GE is over, it is time for me to make way for younger Ministers with fresh ideas. My job is done. The last 23 years in Government have been wonderful ones. I have had the opportunity to serve in various capacities, as Minister for the Environment, Communications, and finally, National Development for the last 12 years. I have been privileged to serve under three Prime Ministers, which has been an exceptionally satisfying and inval...
