SINGAPORE - More job seekers are scouring social media sites for job opportunies, but they are also worried about the damage that content on their social networking pages can have on their careers. A recent survey by recruitment firm Kelly Services showed that one in five people are using social media such as Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter, to seek job openings or promotions. The survey involved more than 900 job seekers in Singapore. Facebook is the most popular social media site for Gen Y (aged 18-29) respondents to look for work, but LinkedIn is preferred by Gen X (aged 30-47) and baby boomers (aged 48-65). Kelly Services said social media allowed people to target exactly the job they want, and even the organisation they want to work for.
