Hamilton takes Singapore pole

McLaren driver, Lewis Hamilton, continues his great run of form in recent races by topping the qualifying session for the Formula 1’s Singapore Grand Prix. The Brit clocked 1 minute and 46,362 seconds to leave second-paced Pastor Maldonado of Williams nearly half a second behind. Hamilton has won two of the last three GP as he sits second in the drivers’ championship with 142 points. Defending champion Sebastian Vettel of Red Bull, who was fastest in the training sessions, could only manage third result. Another McLaren man, Jenson Button, will accompany him on the second row for the start of the Sunday’s race. Season’s leader Fernando Alonso of Ferrari (179 points) has settled for the fifth spot on the grid ahead of force India’s Paul Di Resta.
