Pet owners find it difficult and expensive to travel around Singapore with their furkids as pets are not allowed on trains and buses. Hence, owners often have to resort to flagging a taxi; not only is it expensive, some taxi drivers refuse to take them. When I went to Korea for a vacation, I found out that pets are allowed in their subway. As a dog owner, I think this is something Singapore can improve on. I hope the Land Transport Authority would consider allowing pets with their owners on trains and buses. That being said, we have to be considerate to others, including the Muslim community. So I propose that pets strictly be caged or put in a carrier. Trains could have a small hived-off compartment for owners with noisy pets. Please help make the lives of pet owners more pleasant and affordable! Letter from Ang Yu Lin
