SINGAPORE - Rocket Man finally delivered the win he'd been promising Singapore racing fans last night at the Singapore Turf Club. The five-year-old Australian-bred horse did it in style, crushing the rest of the field by at least four-and-three-quarters of a length, even leaving the rest of the filed out of the photo-finish frame at the end of the 1,200m Krisflyer International Sprint. At one-time rated the best sprinter in the world, Rocket Man endured luckless runs over the past two years here, finishing second in 2009 and 2010. This time, his conquerors from Hong Kong, Sacred Kingdom (2009) and Green Birdie (2010), had no answer to the sheer speed of the Patrick Shaw-trained horse. There was little doubt about the mood of Rocket Man when he jumped out smartly from barrier nine at the start. He kept just off the leader for much of the race, before unleashing a devastatin...
