Young Singaporeans are also joining the 'planking' fad, fuelled ironically by the widely-reported death of a 20-year-old Australian who performed it on a balcony while drunk. STOMPer Woody thinks it is a largely harmless activity until some competitive 'plankers' try to outdo each other by performing the act in more and more dangerous places. Planking involves participants lying flat on their faces in incongruous settings and sharing photos of such acts online. The STOMPer wrote: "While I don't understand the motivation behind these acts, I think they are harmless like the many fads that come and go.
