SINGAPORE: HSBC's twice-a-year poll on the outlook of traders in the next six months showed that levels of confidence were highest in India, Saudi Arabia and Mexico. The trade confidence index for Asia was at 115, outperforming the global score of 114. Six months earlier, the global trade confidence index was at 116 points. A reading above 100 indicates a positive outlook. Among Asian traders, Singapore recorded the highest jump in confidence level with its index rising eight points to 121. And while confidence in the Eurozone, Australia and Canada remained in positive territory, their respective indices fell from levels recorded six months ago. The slowly recovering US economy managed to eke out a three-point gain.
